InvestmentPITIC NZ is not promoting nor recommending any investment linked to our website, nor has it undertaken any review of the credentials of any such investment or the people promoting it. In particular, any statements regarding potential investment returns or the merits of an investment are solely made by the person seeking investment and have not been verified in any way by PITIC NZ. A person proceeding with an investment profiled must make their own assessment of the merits of that investment in all respects. PITIC NZ is simply providing a medium which links parties interested in investing in the pacific with investment opportunities advised to PITIC NZ. Air Vanuatu RSE Mission on 2-6 August 2008by Manuel ValdezThe PITIC NZ in its strategy to add value to the Recognized Seasonal Employers (RSE) scheme has initiated the Air Vanuatu RSE Mission to Vanuatu on 2-6 August 2008. The Mission is the first mission of its nature and if successful will be undertaken to the other kick-start islands (Samoa, Tonga, Kiribati and Tuvalu). The planned mission is probably the best option for the RSE employers to seek business opportunities in the Pacific, know and examine the Pacific Islands’ farming system and discuss among themselves the best farming process in the Pacific Islands. In turn, the RSE employers can transfer skills, knowledge and the appropriate and effective farming technology in the Pacific Islands. This can eliminate the trial-and-error farming process, minimize losses, reduce risks, increase substantially the desired productivity level and eventually increase foreign trade from the Pacific Islands to New Zealand. “This is also a good opportunity for the RSE employers to know and appreciate more about the Pacific Islands. Likewise, the mission can teach the RSE employers not only agriculture but also tourism, culture, social norms and how to do business with the Pacific people”, said PITIC NZ Trade Commissioner, Chris Cocker.
He further explained: “This is definitely a win-win situation both for the RSE employers, the kick-start country and seasonal workers.”
The Team from PITIC NZ includes Trade Commissioner Chris Cocker and Investment Marketing Executive Manuel Valdez, National Coordinator of HortNZ Jerf van Beek, Vanuatu New Zealand McKenzie Kalotiti. A group of media men will also be joining the delegation.
