Background Information
The Solomon Islands became fully independent in 1978. Recently, the central Government embarked on a program of decentralisation and to date nine provincial Governments have been established.

The Solomon Island's Government welcomes and encourages investors whose development proposals are compatible with its national aims and objectives in respect of the environment and social structure. In addition, the Government has developed a list of desired investment areas for potential investors.
